I regret to inform you that my love for myself has led me to make the difficult decision to override my integrity at this time. I know this must be hard for you, as you were banking on my integrity, which up until recently, has led me to please you at my own expense.

Yes, I said I would.

Yes, I’ve changed my mind.

No, I will not continue to sacrifice myself. Because the truth is, when I hold you in my mind, it doesn’t bring me joy.

Yes, you’re disappointed.

And I’m going anyway.
